Meet the Lison valley and its source during your stay in the Doubs
An atypical walk to the source of the Lison
In the heart of the Jura mountains, the Source du Lison is a huge waterfall that emerges from a cave as grandiose.
Take a walk to the Source and discover the natural landscapes of the region. Take one of the many marked hiking trails to get to the nearest one. From 15 minutes to 2 hours of walking, there is something for everyone, from the casual hiker to the trekking enthusiast. Take a walk through nature and keep your eyes open so that you don't miss anything of the Jura massif.
Depending on the season you choose to go, you will not meet the same wild animals. Sometimes deer, foxes, weasels and other times wild boars, badgers or hedgehogs. Birds also like to blend in with the jungle and you may see eagles and owls, for example.
Beware! In rainy weather, the mountain paths can be dangerous. Do not take any risks. Always seek expert advice before setting off and make sure you have the right equipment.
An exceptional atmosphere on arrival
You are there! The magic happens immediately! Once again, the time of visit can change everything. Winter will give way to nostalgia for the good old days and cold colours. On the contrary, summer will bring out certain plants and a different tone of nature.
Take your time. Observe every detail of the panorama. Photography enthusiasts will be able to capture wonderful moments of the environment in action.
One thing is for sure, no matter what the season, the water in the Lison Spring will be very cool, barely reaching 10 degrees at the most.
