Opposite the Hôtel Foch, the Parc des Glacis offers a place to relax and unwind after a day's work or sightseeing in Besançon.
Halfway between Besançon station and the city centre, the Promenade des Glacis was laid out in the 19th century on the site of former Vauban fortifications.
The park offers a panoramic view of the old town. There are many species of trees, flower beds and rose beds. There is also a play area for children.
Several sculptures line the Parc des Glacis. They are dedicated to the French overseas territories and foreign servicemen.
The park provides pedestrian access to the historic town centre in just a few minutes.
