Since its opening in 2013, Victor Hugo's birthplace represents a contemporary scenography place which leaves an important place to multimedia, allowing to present his numerous fights.
On the first floor, you will discover the permanent exhibition. This part allows to understand the links that the writer had with his native city.
On the first floor, you will find a chronology of French history, from the 19th century to the various events that marked his life.
Four themes will be proposed to you on the floor, within four distinct spaces, but all devoted to his commitments.
Poet, playwright, novelist, he was also a politician who was keen to share his ideas and numerous convictions through his speeches, actions but also writings.
In order to highlight all the actuality of his fights, a partnership with four international associations has been set up.
